It’s common to hear brides-to-be say “well, we’d really love to have a destination wedding but it’s just too much to ask people to travel.” But this thinking deserves some second thought, especially in today’s nomadic culture where younger people frequently move to new cities after graduation. If a couple meets outside of the bride’s hometown, chances are pretty good that the groom did not grow up in the same area. “I’m from Kansas but my fiancée grew up in Michigan.” This causes large problems when the couple has to deal with splitting holidays and potentially causes disagreements on where they would eventually like to settle and raise kids. The point is, most wedding planning now requires hotel reservations for a large portion of the guest list. People will be traveling far distances to watch the nuptials take place and then take their jet lag out at the free bar. So opting not to have a destination wedding for reasons of inconveniencing people may not make as much sense as it used to. Heck, lots of people would rather travel to someplace exciting like the Florida Keys or Charleston, South Carolina (two popular destination wedding locations) instead of shacking up in the middle of Ohio or Delaware.

Having a destination wedding would be fun for everyone! Especially for the couple if they share a common nostalgia for the location – for instance, “it’s the vacation spot where we fell in love.” Or “we both are really into skiing and the mountains.” The wedding photos usually show striking scenery in the background and guests get to enjoy their own mini-vacation. The couple can also select creative destination wedding invitations to set the mood and get their guests excited about the trip.

The popular locations for destination weddings are usually stocked with resorts and vendors who specialize in out-of-town parties. “Honey, we’ve been doing this for years.” They usually provide great ideas for lodging that is a convenient distance from the ceremony and reception, and they already have transportation figured out. That reduces a lot of stress for the wedding planning and allows the bride and groom, as well as their families, to relax and enjoy their trip instead of worrying about something going wrong.

Couples who prefer a more private and intimate ceremony often opt for a destination wedding. This reduces the need to invite the ladies in her mother’s book club and his dad’s fishing buddies to the wedding. Destination wedding guests are carefully selected and are considered the more important people in the couple’s lives who they choose to share a very intimate and special moment with.

Destination weddings are also a great solution for couples who share a passion for travel, excitement and adventure. People often say the day they got married was the most important day in their life so no one should ever have to say, “Man I wish I had done it differently – we should have done it there…”

My favorite kind of food ever is omelets. They’re just so good and you can do so much with them. Also, they’re really easy to fix. Therefore, they’re my favorite. But after all the cheesy omelets I have, I’m getting a little sick of them and want to find some other kind of fun omelet.

I went grocery shopping right after that and got some stuff that I think would keep for a while for me to use in my omelets like artichokes, mushrooms and some peppers. I’m really excited to try out all of them and just hoep that I use all the ingredients I bought before they go bad.
